Stalked the NYC Les Miserables Premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater today. I got there around 3ish, and chilled for a couple of hours with some nice fellow fans, some who were mainly there for Hugh Jackman and had met him before. Initially I was worried about the weather b/c it had been raining pretty heavily earlier but the fans and I lucked out with the weather and it didn’t rain for the rest of the evening.
Red carpet arrivals began at 6ish with Aaron Tveit [Enjolras] arriving first, he vanished briefly to do some press stuff I think but then crossed the street to sign autographs/take some pictures. Unfortunately, he was too far away from where I was in the barricades and was escorted away by his handlers to do more red carpet stuff. [Actually a friend and I joked, WE SHOULD KNOCK DOWN THESE FAN BARRICADES IN THE SPIRIT OF THE MUSICAL AND THE BOOK ROFL. Of course that actually didn’t happen but was an amusing thought ^^;;] I think Samantha Barks [Eponine] arrived second, and I was only able to snap quick shot of the back of her before she also vanished from our view, to do press stuff and we didn’t see her again until she was on the red carpet.
Daniel Huttlestone [Gavroche] and Isabelle Allen [young Cosette] arrived next and HRGHHHH these two were just too adorableeee. I was able to get Daniel’s autograph and he mistakenly wanted to give me his pen though I told him it wasn’t mine and actually belonged to his handler who took it back for him XD I was too far away for Isabelle to sign my Les Mis book but she was adorable too and it was really sweet how her family looked on and seemed super proud of her :3
Eddie Redmayne [Marius] came next and while he waved to us, but it seemed he was immediately whisked away to red carpet stuff so he couldn’t cross the street. Amanda Seyfried [Cosette] arrived, and she crossed to sign autographs and take a few photos but once again I was too far away from the section where she was doing this and left before she could reach me.
Then the director Tom Hooper came and things got a little crazy. He was actually about to leave right when he got to me and I thought “NOOOOOOOO DON’T LEAVEEE YETTT.” but Hallelujah he commented that he would sign one last autgraph and noticed my Les Mis book in hand and said, “Oh, I’ll just sign this last book,” and I was saveeddddd. I was like “OHMIGOD THANK YOU SO MUCH MR. HOOPER” and then he left.
Though, of course complete pandemonium ensued when Hugh Jackman [Jean Valjean] arrived, but since I’ve met him before [but didn’t get his autograph since I gave my signed playbill to a friend] I took more a backseat. He did sign my book though and I thanked him. What was great was that Mr. Jackman was one of the few to start in the middle of the crowd, finish all the way to one side, but then head back to finish up the other line. Mrs. Jackman, Debra was also quite lovely and conversed with several of the fans at the barriacade as her husband signed :D I opted to take a video of this instead of a picture and recorded the ensuing pandemonium haha.
Sacha Baron Cohen [Thenardier] arrived next, and he also took his time signing autographs. After he signed, I noticed that he autographed partly over Tom Hooper’s autograph, so now they’re kind of weirdly melded together in one corner of both autographs ahahaha xD Anne Hathaway [Fantine] arrived next and while she was too far away from me to sign my book, she did sign autographs for some people. Russell Crowe [Javert] came next and he was actually a bit quiet, seemingly focused on signing as many autographs as he could. After signing as many as he could, Mr. Crowe actually came back to give a fan a sharpie back that he initially had borrowed :3
At one point Cameron MacKintosh and Kevin Durand made an appearance Mr. MacKintosh didn’t get a chance to sign my book but it was nice that he made an appearance So, while it would have been nice to get the whole cast, I was definitely more than pleased with the ones I got :D Overall, a great experience :3

Hugh Jackman Signing Autographs
I found it! This is my friend’s video. I swear the screaming person in the beginning isn’t me lolz.
Hugh Jackman at the Broadhurst Theater - so awhile back when Hugh Jackman had his solo show on Broadway, my friend and I went to the box office on the last day of his show to see if we could snag any rush tickets. Unfortunately there weren’t any left T.T but we decided we still wanted to try and meet him later.
We went for lunch, watched Tinker, Tailor, Solider Spy, went to get some flowers, [funny note: when we were trying to decide what to get him, we thought about getting hydrangeas first but then we looked up their meaning online and found out they mean heartlessness, opps…] and then headed back to the Broadhurst theater. Not seeing the show actually worked out to our favor, since we were able to snag a good spot in front of the barricades. A nice lady give me an extra playbill to get signed because my friend and I didn’t even have a spare piece of paper or anything rofl [we were woefully unprepared.]
After the show, one of the show handlers told the crowd that he wouldn’t have time to pose for individual pictures because he still had to get ready for an evening show later that night. But I thought it was so, so, sweet that Mr. Jackman decided to sign autographs for this earlier show too :D When Mr. Jackman came out, obviously it was a little chaotic but not quite as bad. I have to say, he is one of the most sweetest celebs I’ve ever encountered. Totally friendly, genuine, and just one of the most perfect human beings ever. He took his time signing autographs and chatting with fans.
At one point, one woman shouted “You’re fabulous!” and he replied “Thank you sweetheart” :D She also went to explain that tickets to his show was her anniversary gift, and he asked what number anniversary it is. When she replied it was 4 years, he congratulated her :3 Though, of course when Mr. Jackman came up to us, my friend and I tried out best not to lose our shit. We presented him with the roses, telling him they were for him, and ohmigod, at first he was all surprised and said “For me?!” XD I wanted to say, “Oh course, who else would it be for lolzzz” but we nodded at him. And holy shit, he replied, “Oh, thank you darlings.” *DEAD*
At first, my friend and I actually didn’t know that he called us darlings, [because we were too busy basking in his presence and freaking out like crazy] until after we rewinded the video we took. After that, it was basically: OMFG-HOLY-SHIT-HUGH-JACKMAN-CALLED-US-DARLINGS-THIS-IS-BEAUTIFUL-IMA-GONNA-CRY-HAPPY-TEARS-FANGIRLING for about 5 minutes straight. So, amazing, amazing experience with this one. Broadway shows tend to be a little easier to meet celebs, because its generally expected for the stars to come to the stage door afterwards to sign playbills…
Ima gonna try to find this video soon…
Rise of the Guardians (November 2012) - Upcoming animated film based on William Joyce’s “The Guardians of Childhood” book series, revolved around a group of guardians, Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin), Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher), Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), The Sandman, joining forces with Jack Frost (Chris Pine) when the Bogeyman/Pitch (Jude Law) enacts a plan to bring total darkness into the world by destroying the hopes and dreams of children everywhere.
I read about this earlier but super excited now with this trailer. Animation looks flawlesss and I’m really digging the score by Alexandre Desplat. Btw did anyone catch Russian Santa’s “nice and naughty” tattoos in the trailer? :D And yes, I am also slightly attracted to animated Jack Frost. I think it’s because he looks like a leftover Final Fantasy character design that Tetsuya Nomura forgot to use at one point. That or its like someone ripped him right out of an anime. Kawaii bishounen much?
